Australia have won the multi-format women's series against South Africa 12 points to 4, after a huge Test victory in Perth by an innings and 284 runs.

Annabel Sutherland's special double century and Darcie Brown's 5fa highlighted the Test match as both young players entertained the fans and gave a promising glimpse into the future of the Australian women's team.

For the Proteas though, the situation was dire, as they slumped to their lowest Test innings total early on and struggled to build partnerships on a bouncy pitch.

Major talking points include: Marizanne Kapp's omission through illness, Laura Wolvaardt's captaincy, and the long list of retirements that has resulted in a major loss of experience for South Africa due to a breakdown in relationship between the administration and its players.
