Hillsdale College: How did this small Christian college in Michigan end up at the heart of Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election?(Chris du Mond)

How did a small Christian college in Michigan end up at the heart of Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election? Hillsdale College is strongly conservative but in a quiet way. Its founders were anti-slavery abolitionists from the Free Baptist Church. In recent years, though, it’s become the intellectual centre of pro-Trump conservatism. Even more controversially, some senior college figures are alleged to have plotted to undermine the result in Michigan, a state that Joe Biden won.

Guest: Danny Hakim of The New York Times has been looking into the controversy
