A crisis meeting has been held among wine growers and the government in South Australia's Riverland region. It comes as the industry reels from plunging wholesale prices.

The Riverland region is Australia's largest producer of wine grapes - responsible for over 30 per cent of Australia's grapes - and many growers say they're on the brink of financial collapse.

Guest: Charles Matheson, Grower Engagement Officer with Riverland Wine
